Steam car wash tips and tricks:

Which steam machine does fit well steam car wash:

  1. Continuous refill steam boiler for non-stop use is a must, when water ends the machine can refill instantly without any waist time.
  2. Water jet (Hydro-jet) function. This is fundamental because in presence of very dirty car it is necessary to liquify the dirt which can be salt or mud as a first step. Going over with dry steam and microfiber without liquifying the dirt there is the risk to scratch the surface.
  3. Detergent injection. We have seen many car washer using only dry steam and microfiber towel but this is not correct. A good cleaner is a must for the following two reasons;
    - Ssteam is made of water and water itself may leave spots due to the calcium, especially in presence of hard water. A good cleaner, like SWS, injected with the steam can grant a good result with less effort.
    - Hot dry steam has a good degreaser but sometimes its combination with microfiber wiping process can create some friction on the surface so a good cleaner like our SWS biodegradable detergent can act as lubricant and it smooth the the wiping process protecting the surface. For steam cleaner that is not provided with detergent injection we recommend to use a sprayer.
  4. Hot-dry steam with a constant pressure from 6 to 8 bar is fairly enough. Single phase 220-230Volts steam cleaner is OK.

The best thing to consider to preserve the equipment for long lasting life is the quality of used water. Purified or demineralized waters are the best and can grant also grant better finishing results. The reason is that purified/demineralized water is free from any limestone and salts and can clean better without leaving any spot or stain on the treated surface. In fact it is well-known in the chemical industry that most of the detergents are stating on the instructions for use that the more hard water the more detergent is required. This is because detergent include also softening agents which soften the water and permit the chemical agents to attack the dirt particles. So by softening the water the soap cleans and can get rid of dirt.

We think in the steam car wash market there have been different steam cleaning concepts and schools but there is not a specific standard as yet. For what is our experience that comes mostly from our customer's feedbacks we can give some hints but it is always the practice and experiments that will guide you to the best and optimum steam cleaning process according to your needs.

  • 4 stages process
    • spray steam on half side of the car to remove any possible debris.
    • spray steam and detergent together
    • with only dry steam steam and wipe the area with 1 microfiber cloth
    • wipe and dry the surface with the other micro-fiber clot.
  • 3 stages process
    • spray steam on half side of the car to remove any possible debris.
    • spray steam with detergent and wipe the area with 1 microfiber cloth
    • wipe and dry the surface with the other micro-fiber cloth.
  • 2 stages process
    • spray steam on half side of the car to remove any possible debris.
    • spray dry steam and wipe with microfiber-cloth.
It is obvious that steam car wash can be carried on even without the use of any detergent but simply with plain clean water. As said above, however, it is strongly recommend the use of demineralized water.

With this Model we will be able to supply two steam flexible hose guns with 8 meter length.

The machine will always have the detergent function with tap on the top and the 30 liters water tank placed on vertical position with inlet cap on the back side. The vacuum kit to steam and vacuum can be available as optional.

We think this Model can well fit all the indoor operating places such as garages, parking, Auto body shops, Car repair shops, Tyre shops, etc. Generally speaking the machine is ideal for all these operators that have the 380Volts (3-phases) power source available.

We are informing here what we recommend to obtain a good steam car wash finishing results. We think there are still different opinions on what is the best steam car washing process, everybody that is in this business may have familiarized with its own procedure.
