ZEO DISK- Ecological daily laundry

Zeo disk contains Zeolites which are aluminosilicate minerals with micropourus structure.

Zeolites have the natural propertiy to release the water that they contained into the pores and simultaneously the space left by the water are taken by the calcium and magnesium particles  which are attracted by the minerals. 

This natural process softens the water and consequently allows to drasticaly reduce the uses of detergents and softeners.

Zeolites are used in many different application but one of the important is in laundry detergent market.

Zeo Disk allow to save up to 70% of detergents and  100% of softeners.

 

How Zeo reduce water hardness

Zeolites comes the Greek "zein" which means 'boil' and "lithos" which means 'stone'. 

Zeolites have a particular porosity where the water particles are placed.

Their characteritic is the variable content of water that evaporates during the  heating process, the left space is taken by the Calcium and Magnesium particles which are attracted by the mineral. 

By taking away Calcium and Megnesium from water zeolites reduces the water hardness.

 

 Reduce water hardness to Reduce the quantity of detergent

The presence of hardness ions (Calcium and Magnesium) in the used water affects the washing results. Indeed, the cleaning performance of any surfactants  is seriusly compromised in the presence hard water.

For this reasons the quantity of soap to be used in washing machine always depends on the level of water hardness.

The more water hardness the more detergent is needed, the less water hardness the less detergent needed. 

The washing machine cycle allows zeolites to operate at best. With washing machine water heating, zeolites release their contained water  and absorb the  Calcium and Magnesium particles making the water less hard. Thus allowing to wash with less detergent; finally when the washing cycle is completed the  zeolites re-acquire the previously loosen water re-hydrating themself being ready for the next washing cycle.

 

How to use

The use of zeo leads to a detergent saving proportioned to the level of water hardness , considering an avarage water hardness of 30°f (French degrees, conversion to mg/L calcium: divide by 0.25) the saving will vary from 50 to 70%, (it depends on the cleaning power of the used detergent). The usage of an excessive quantity of detergent is not only non economical and anti-ecological but it also increases the foam with the consequent of bad rinsing result.

The two disks have always to be used together and placed with the laundry into  the washeing machine. Zeo not only reduces the quantity of the used detergent but it also enhance  its  cleaning performance action from the negative effects given by of the presence of hardness salts (deposits, bleaches, etc.), thus extendig also  the washing machine lifetime. The washing additievs such as softeners, decalcifiers and concentrate soaps for most resistant stains, can be eliminated.
