How to use a steam cleaner

  1. Let's start to analyze the type of steam cleaner we have; is it a single tank or twin tank system?
If it is a single tank system we will have to unscrew the boiler pressure cap and fill the necessary amount of water according to the boiler capacity (it is written in the uer manual), some model are provided with a plastic refill bottle. If it is a twin tank system there will not be a presssure safety cap but a normal cap that can be open any time for the refill.
  2. Now we can plug in the unit and switch  it ON. Generally all the steam cleaners are provided with indicator lights on the front panel that indicate when the appliance has reached the temperature/pressure and it is ready to work. It normally takes more time for the single tank steam cleaner to reach the temperature and pressure as the amount of water in the boiler to be heated is higher than twin tank steam cleaner.
  3. When the machine is ready to work we can connect our flexible hose and start to use the attachements according to the cleaning application we have to do.
  • Window cleaning:
Attachment required; flexible hose, window cleaner (squeegee), towel.
We recommend to direct the steam to the glass/window staying away at distance of 5-10cm, then stop steaming and use the squeegee to wipe the window from top to down. When you arrive down to the edge, use a towel to take off the drops of water from the squeegee. The operation is very quick, in case of a very dirt glass/window repeat the operation. For high to reach glass/window use the extension wands.

  • Floor Cleaning:
Attachment required; flexible hose, extension wands, floor brush, towel or microfiber steam pads.
First prepare the brush according to the type of floor to be cleaned.

    Delicate floors:
Such as wooden floors, parquets, linoleums, etc. It is recommended to wrap the brush with a towel, this is to prevent the surface from scratches if the bristles are too hard. Generally, most of the floor brushes are provided with clips to hold the towel, if not you can use elastic cloths. Recently it has been designed specific microfiber steam pads for this application. They can be used with any canister steam cleaner with floor brush attachment. Please note that steam is a strong degreaser so it may be possible that the wax fininishing on wooden floor can be taken away by the steam.

  • Hard surfaces:
Such as marble, stones, tiles, ceramics, etc. If the surfaces are particularly dirty, it is recommended to use the brush without a towel. The hot steam temperature and the mechanical action of the bristles will melt all the stubborn dirt. After this operation, apply the towel (or the microfiber steam pad) on the floor brush and proceed to steam clean again. All the dirt will be collected on the towel.

The hot dry steam is a strong degreaser, it kills germs and leaves the surface completely sanitized. It is suggestable to watch the towel offen while cleaning and replace or wash it when it is full of dirt, otherwise there is the risk to collect the dirt form one place and deposit it in another.

  • 101 steam applications:
With the detail nozzle (steam lance) it is possible to do many diffrent cleaning applications with the steam.
It is possible to use the nozzle to direct steam in the hard to reach places or attaching the small round brush to combine the power of the steam with the mechanical action of the bristles. Normally steam cleaners are provided with round brushes bristled in nylon, brass or stainless steel.

    Tile grout cleaning:
With steam the tile grout cleaning has been never that easier, without using any chemicals it is possible to renovate your wall or floor quickly and ecologically.
